The Topcon OCT is one of the most advanced diagnostic tools available in Optometric practice enabling visualisation of the retina in a way that is comparable to MRI scanning.
This only takes a few seconds or so, per eye, and therefore does not cause discomfort.
David Snow Optician has the first Topcon OCT to be installed in Kent and at present this remains the case.
The Zeiss GDx Nerve Fibre analyser is a sophisticated digital imaging device that very quickly produces a result that gives a very reliable indication of Glaucoma, at present this is the only one installed in East Kent.
The result may also confirm that Glaucoma is not present or unlikely to occur, which is useful if a family history may otherwise give cause for concern.
